Benjie brings a unique background and combination of experience to Next IP. Benjie currently concentrates his practice in patent drafting and prosecution. Prior to  joining Next IP, Benjie was a founding partner of Balser & Grell and was an associate attorney at an IP boutique in Atlanta, GA.

Benjie’s patent prosecution experiences include the following field of technology: electrical, computer, mechanical, general engineering, physics, telecommunications, and optical; and more specifically, telecommunication systems, email systems, instant messaging systems, digital cable systems including encryption/decryption, modulation techniques, distribution techniques, wireless local area network systems and standards including IEEE 802.11, laser systems, optics and optical electronics, GPS systems, weapons systems, processor architecture, analog/digital circuits, power electronics, battery charging, broadband circuits, wireless modulation techniques, refrigeration systems, financial services, and business methods, among others.
Benjie's industry experience includes work as an Analog Applications Engineer specializing in power management devices with Texas Instruments, Inc. in Dallas, Texas. Prior to working with Texas Instruments, Inc., Benjie worked with Nokia Mobile Phones in Fort Worth, Texas.

At Nokia Mobile Phones, Benjie worked in the manufacturing facility and was responsible for training technicians to repair manufacturing defects of dual-mode mobile phones on the production line. His duties occasionally brought him to Finland, Nokia's World Headquarters, to assist in design of new product releases. Also while in Finland, Benjie assisted the Finnish State Department in developing a fuzzy logic system for predicting manufacturing defects.
