Experience
 
Minh N. Nguyen is a founding partner of Next IP Law Group LLC and practices in the area of intellectual property law. A registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Minh  has experience in drafting and prosecuting electrical, computer and mechanical patent applications. Minh's specific experience includes electronics, electro-mechanical systems, radio frequency systems, GPS devices and systems, memory chips, microprocessor, networking devices and systems, call center systems and applications, telecommunication, data networking, application software, aviation systems, business methods, container/packaging systems, conveyor/processing systems, integrated circuits, Internet-enabled systems, spa designs, medical devices, and system testing and measuring (electrical and optical). Minh's trademark experience includes handling hundreds of domestic and foreign trademark cases. 
Minh has experience in patent litigation, particularly in litigation strategy and support, infringement investigations, and validity investigations, and in rendering patentability, noninfringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate opinions to reduce clients’ risks. Minh further has experience drafting agreements, particularly the intellectual property and indemnification terms of a sales agreement, a click-wrap agreement and non-disclosure agreements.  Before entering the legal profession, Minh was a radio frequency design engineer, designing low power wireless products. In particular, he designed ferrite antennas, superhet receivers and transmitters in both VLF and UHF that are compliant with FCC and EMI/EMC standards. Mr. Nguyen is a 2002 graduate of Marquette University Law School and a 1998 graduate of Marquette University (B.S., Electrical and Computer Engineering).

  • Analyzed and evaluated a sales agreement to determine scope of indemnification as part of providing litigation support to a communications solution company in a matter related to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology that resulted in a withdrawal of a patent assertion
  • Drafted the intellectual property and indemnification terms of a sales agreement
  • Drafted non-disclosure agreements for several software companies
  • Drafted an exclusive recording agreement and a termination agreement between an artist and a recording company
  • Drafted a click-wrap agreement for an online service company
  • Represented corporations on various patent prosecution matters in the area of digital messaging.
